Artificial Intelligence
THink tank
The COF Artificial Intelligence Think Tank is dedicated to advancing the frontiers of education through research, innovation, and collaboration at the intersection of artificial intelligence and pedagogy. Comprising a diverse cadre of higher education professionals, our mission is to explore, evaluate, and communicate the transformative potential of AI in teaching and learning.
Guided by a commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and ethical considerations, our think tank seeks to be at the forefront of understanding how AI technologies can enhance the educational experience across diverse settings and disciplines. By fostering interdisciplinary dialogues and collaboration, we aim to catalyze positive change and forward momentum within our respective academic institutions and beyond.
Think Tank Subgroups
Subgroup 1: Applications of AI – This group will focus on the exploration of the varied uses and applications of AI in our work and personal lives. Potential deliverables or projects for this group may be creating a catalog of use case examples, and organizing teaching demos or workshops/trainings for the COF community.
Subgroup 2: Ethics & Equity Subgroup – This group will focus on researching, sharing case studies, and exploring known and emerging ethical issues related to AI use. The group will consider questions of equity as they relate to AI in higher education. A potential deliverable project for this group may be building a framework or a guide for faculty outlining considerations or mitigants for potential ethical challenges.
Subgroup 3: Student Survey – This group will collaborate to create an informal student survey aimed at better understanding where COF students are when it comes to AI. The group will brainstorm questions, format, and support data collection and analysis.

AI Resources
Not sure where to begin? Learn the basics with help from The University of Arizona’s library resources here. Start to see how AI can be leveraged in teaching and learning with Stanford University’s classroom resources here, or browse Harvard’s AI Pedagogy Project to explore resources on how AI is affecting students and syllabi.
Colleagues across the COF have begun assembling resources and references related to AI. Please feel free to add any resources you are fond of!
Please be advised that AI systems may contain built-in biases that can influence outputs and recommendations. Users should exercise critical thinking and awareness when interpreting and utilizing AI-generated content.
