Through the Wire: Teju Cole

Through the Wire: Teju Cole

Join the Emmanuel College Center for Diversity Equity & Inclusion and Black Student Union on February 23rd at 7PM for an evening with Teju Cole for a discussion on his book “Known and Strange Things.”

Teju Cole – Award-Winning Author and Photography Critic for NYT Magazine. Essayist, novelist, photographer and art critic: few people view the world from all angles the way Teju Cole does. In both his talks and his art, Teju explores multinational identity: finding fresh and potent ways to interpret art, people, and historical moments. With his finger firmly on the pulse of race relations in America, Teju knows the power of art when it comes to examining the distribution of justice, intersectionality and social movements. He’ll share his experiences with how the power of the written word can be used to evoke emotions, conjure memories, and achieve real change.
