The Colleges of the Fenway Orchestra is dedicated to bringing together individuals from the entire COF community through the performance of a broad range of music from Mozart to Gershwin, Bach to Rodgers and Hammerstein!  Bridging differences in age, interests, status and experience, students, faculty, staff, and alumni rehearse and perform together, sharing the common goal of creating great live orchestral music. The orchestra is directed by Kathleen Berger.

The COF Orchestra rehearses on Thursday evenings at 6:30 PM at the modular building behind the Emmanuel College Library, 400 The Fenway. (See map location 4.) It performs at least two concerts each academic year.  The concerts, which draw an audience from across the six colleges and beyond, are performed at various locations at the Colleges of the Fenway.

The COF Orchestra is open to qualified students, staff and faculty by audition.  Friendly, painless auditions are held for all instruments in September and January of each academic year to ensure that all members are able to meet the challenges of the orchestral repertoire.  Additional auditions may be held at other times during the year depending upon current openings.  Returning orchestra members do not need to re-audition.

String players are particularly encouraged to audition!

Members of the orchestra represent six prestigious instutions: Emmanuel College, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Simmons Colege, Wentworth Institute of Technology, and Wheelock College.
