The
Colleges of the Fenway Orchestra is dedicated to bringing together
individuals from The Colleges of the Fenway community through the performance
of music. Located in Boston's Fenway Community and adjacent to the Longwood
Medical area, this diverse orchestra draws on musicians from the six colleges
of the Colleges of the Fenway Consortium.
In celebration of the diversity represented throughout the Colleges of the
Fenway, the orchestra performs the music of lesser-known composers, with
an emphasis on minorities and women, alongside music from the European orchestral
tradition.

Members of the orchestra
represent six prestigious institutions including Emmanuel
College, Massachusetts
College of Art, Massachusetts
College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Simmons
College, Wentworth Institute
of Technology, and Wheelock
College. Bridging differences in age, interests, status, and experience;
students, faculty, staff, and alumni rehearse for the common goal of creating
great live orchestral music.
